Altitude Partners Lifts Award for Investing in Southern SMEs
Southampton-based Altitude Partners has been voted Private Equity Firm of the Year 2015 at the Solent Deals Awards gala dinner.
The deal-led awards sees judges looking for excellence in specific transactions with the accolade recognising Altitude’s recent investments in Hampshire-based Chameleon Worldwide Travel, as well as South West manufacturing firm, James Tobias. These deals and the accompanying award cements Altitude’s position as an investor in the talent shown by SME businesses in the Southern Region.
Commenting, Simon White, a Partner from Altitude said: “SMEs are not only the engine room of any economy but are, for us, also the most rewarding market in which to invest”.
Both deals were complex but completed relatively swiftly, owing largely to the fact that Altitude always has committed capital available from their own fund. Set up in 2010, Altitude’s goal is to fill the equity gap left by other funders.
Jonathan Simm, Partner, commented: “There are very few sources of active sub £3m finance in the UK that come with large amounts of post transaction help. The award recognises our commitment to hard working entrepreneurial companies seeking vital funds to grow”.
The Deals Awards are independently adjudicated by a panel of experts. They are not just looking at size of deal but a range of criteria including complexity, who led it, mix of advisers, timeframe, and more.
In the same week Altitude was also shortlisted as a finalist for the award of Alternative Finance Provider at the South West Deal Awards in Bristol, rounding off a successful year for the Altitude Fund.
